Christmas is here

The Oxford Christmas Parade was a BLAST! We had soo much fun. The car was a great success. Thanks to Dr. Kenneth Evins(the clown)for all the laughs. The Butner Parade got snow! How cool was that? Can't wait for next year.

Mobility

In the age of the Smartphone, the e-book, bluetooth and other wireless technologies I sometimes wonder, "What's next?" We have more technology in our pockets now than ever before. I use an Iphone and for most purposes can do what I need through the day on it. It even tracks my diet and helps me keep up with my calories. Wow! All this being said cars are enjoying the benefits of the tech-age as well. The new Cruze utilizes an Onstar system that will let you check your oil life, tire pressure, fuel and even remotely start and lock your doors all from your phone. This is amazing. I saw a commercial the other day where the same concept is being used for home security. Pretty soon you won't even need a computer. Some criticize and say we are relying on technology too much. I disagree. I say use the imagination and lets see what we can do next. With this comes great responsibility. Just as you have to be careful of what you say, be careful what you type. Once it is sent you can't take it back. So be mindful. Future employers, friends or even future love interests can be looking. FaceBook, MySpace and other social media is good but watch what you post. That picture of you drunk humping the neighbor's dog may be funny now but it wont be in ten years when your children google you and it pops up.

I don't blog as much as I would like just for that reason. I use this site to share info but I have to be mindful of who is reading it. I won't post something my children couldn't read.

Texting while driving

Recently there has been a lot of press on the issue of texting while driving.
Here is my take on it. Most people (teens) today are not taught to drive as some of us were. There are more people on the road today and cars have way more features to distract you. So why add something else to the mix? Everyday I see an accident during my commute. So many of these could be avoided if people only paid more attention. Texting while driving? Not me. I choose to live and not drive up my insurance premiums. So if you do the occasional text or if you have a teen who drives, I urge you to put a stop to texting and driving. If it is that important to you then Motorola has a speech-to-text program that you can purchase and use with a hands-free device. Please be safe.

BP or No?

Recently it has been a lot of bad press about BP for the oil spill. My question is, Do we stop using BP gas until they can get their act together? But if we do that are we hurting BP? Or the small business owner who lives in your community who runs the gas station? What a topic?!?! This is exactly why I have this blog. I want to stop using BP fuels because they can spend some of the hundreds of millions of dollars in their bank accounts to clean up this mess. On the other hand I see the owner of my local BP station with his wife and children in the grocery store and wonder how this is affecting him. It is not his fault so why should he be penalized? What do you think? Do we boycott and send them a message that we are not sitting down on this one? Or do we do nothing and hope it works out for the best? Then consider the fisherman who has no way of feeding his family during this time. Shouldn't he be compensated for his lost earnings? Come on BP spend some of the $61 million a day profits...

I Have Great News

Tuesday morning my wife and I welcome into our lives a new baby girl!! We are so happy that mom and baby are doing well. Thank you all for the calls and the understanding as I was out of the office for a few days. I will keep you posted and again thanks!

Fresh Start

May is off to a great start! I want to thank all those who stopped by. We are trying some new things and want your feed back. So please explore the site and leave comments so I can know how to better serve you. Next month we have some exciting things as well. In June I will be driving the Grand Marshall in the Central Children's Day Parade, that will be an amazing honor. I will also be attending a golf tournament for Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Vehicles will be on display there as well. Union Chapel MBC is also hosting their second annual Car Show. Owners Clinic

Today is our first annual new owners clinic. It is sure to be a great time. There will be food, prizes and much more..... They are even setting off an airbag! If you can make it please do. It's Almost Here!

The New Chevy Cruze is almost here!!! It's due by September but we are excitied already. It will get a segment leading 40 mpg. It looks to be not just a "new trend" in automobiles, but the "standard".

New Beginning

Clearing the Air

Just recently there was a news report stating that we were closing our doors. This is UNTRUE. Unfortunately our sister store in Cary will be merging with the Raleigh store. We anticipate staying open under a different franchise. Although we are sad to see our sister store close we know that you our customers will support us as we undergo this transition. Thank you.

Fuel Saving Tips
